For every $100 donated, four children will receive a new pair of tennis shoes to help them step into their future.
Can you imagine what it’s like to be a child in school having to wear a worn-out pair of shoes – or a pair that’s not quite big enough for your feet? This is the reality for many children in Williamson and Travis counties. That’s why The Salvation Army holds our annual Shoe-In to provide shoes to local children and help them step into a better future.
On Saturday, October 24, 2015, we conducted our Annual Shoe-In in Williamson County at Celebration Church. We had a second Shoe-In in Travis County as part of The Junior League of Austin Coats for Kids distribution on December 12.
Over the past five years we have given away more than 6,000 pairs of new tennis shoes and more than 13,000 pairs of new socks to children living in poverty or homelessness.
Make a Difference
Please consider making a Shoe-In donation to help us raise the $60,000 needed to provide these shoes and socks. Because of our great partners (see below) we are able to buy quality, new tennis shoes for $20-25 a pair.
