Register as a Volunteer

Step 1. Volunteers register online.

Step 2. Attend an hour-long orientation that is held at The Salvation Army Austin Area Command, located at 4700 Manor Road, Austin, TX 78723. This is an opportunity to meet the Volunteer Manager, learn about The Salvation Army and schedule your first volunteer opportunity.

Volunteer Receptionists Needed

  • Are you friendly, like to work with a variety of personalities and enjoy meeting people? Then join us as a volunteer receptionist!
  • The position will be for the front desk of our new Corps Community Center and Area Command offices. The Corps will house a church and community center. The Area Command will house administrative offices and development team. We need volunteers M – F, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
  • We are looking for long-term volunteers who can commit to a minimum of six months and who will commit to one or more shifts on consistent days (every Monday or Tuesday, etc.) This position will begin the first week of October.
  • The volunteer will have an office in the lobby of the ground floor. You will answer phones, direct guests and help with some simple administrative tasks.
