The red shield is an iconic symbol of empathy, love, and hope for those struggling in our communities. From our volunteers ringing bells next to red kettles during the Christmas season, to our emergency shelters and stores, we are a wide-reaching presence of support in Central Texas for people facing difficult challenges.
But that’s just part of our story. In the coming weeks, this blog will take a deep dive into our people, programs, and services that make up The Salvation Army Austin Area Command. This month, we will focus on the The Rathgeber Center for Families and its positive impact since opening last February.
Stay tuned for graphics, photos, stories, and videos every week in this space that will enhance your understanding of who we are and how we help people move from crisis to self-sufficiency.
