Day of Giving 2023
Changing lives, creating futures, and partnering with the community to be part of the solution – this was the vision for The Salvation Army Austin’s 3rd Annual Day of Giving on Wednesday, August 23. We partnered with local media to spread the word about our shelters and services for families in need and encourage donations to our Day of Giving campaign.
We started the day with a goal of raising $850,000 to help local families in crisis, and our community responded to their need. With the help of 727 donors, we surpassed our goal, raising $939,587 to support our programs for families experiencing homelessness in our community.
Family homelessness is a growing, hidden crisis in our community, and the donations received through Day of Giving provide shelter, warm meals, and the critical resources needed to help families experiencing homelessness regain self-sufficiency. Donations received are kept local: a gift from local community members to local families in need.
