Festival of Trees 2024
The air was filled with holiday cheer as the Festival of Trees brought warmth, joy, and the spirit of giving to the community this past weekend. Hosted by The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, this year’s event was a heartwarming celebration of how the season of generosity can create lasting change for those in need.
As the doors opened, attendees were greeted with a stunning display of beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Members of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary had poured their creativity and heart into transforming 10 trees into one-of-a-kind masterpieces for auction. The excitement in the room was evident as guests placed their bids, eager to take home one of the Christmas trees. With each bid, the sense of community and giving grew stronger, knowing that every dollar raised would support The Rathgeber Center for Families and the Angel Tree program.
Throughout the evening, Major Feinauer played beautiful Christmas music. His renditions of holiday classics brought smiles to everyone’s faces, as did the hot chocolate, cookies, and charcuterie boards available to guests. Attendees embraced the opportunity to contribute to The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program, donating new toys and clothing to brighten Christmas morning for families in need. A special thank you goes to Dick and Sarah Rathgeber whose $10,000 donation will directly support children in the Angel Tree program- making a profound impact on the lives of those in our community.
As we reflect on the success of the event, we are reminded that the true spirit of Christmas lies not in material gifts, but the gift of hope and community. The funds raised this weekend will provide crucial services, including shelter, resources, and support for families during the holidays and beyond. We are so grateful to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and resources to make it all possible this season and year-round!
