Volunteer Spotlight - Providence Partners Goes Above and Beyond
On Thursday, March 23, Providence Partners organized an event for residents at The Rathgeber Center, featuring professional haircuts and styling services. Volunteers from Providence Partners partnered with two local hairstylists, providing all the necessary equipment, products, and amenities needed for a complete and professional hairdressing experience!
Many families eagerly signed up to take part in this experience. The hairstylists took great care in styling the residents’ hair, utilizing top-quality shampoo, conditioner, and styling products. They also provided a thorough wash and cut, finishing each client’s hair with a professional blowout. The volunteers went above and beyond, not only raising money to purchase the hair washing stations, but also donating all leftover hair products.
It was incredible to see the transformations that took place, not only in the residents’ hairstyles, but also in their overall demeanor. The children were excited to see each other’s new haircuts, and the parents were able to enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating spa-like experience. One mother expressed her gratitude, informing us this was her first haircut and styling experience in over two years!
We are sincerely grateful for Providence Partners and the local hairstylists that made this event possible. Their effort in giving a luxurious experience to our families in shelter mirrored our mission of Doing The Most Good in our community. Going beyond providing basic necessities, this night provided our residents in shelter with joy, comfort, and a sense of normalcy during a transitional period. Thank you, Providence Partners!
